Department of Music and Performing Arts
These are practical courses focusing on music, theatre, performance and arts industries. These unique courses reflect the diversity, excitement and innovation of the new millennium and aims to take music and performance practice beyond its conventional boarders. The emphasis will be bringing on bringing together the disciplines of dance, drama, music expressions with painting, sculpture and digital technologies in the visual areas. It will draw on the rich African heritage arts while exposing students to the excitement and innovations of Western cultures. Students’ cultural identity and personal viewpoints will act as the foundations for their expressive explorations.  
Theatre design is concern with designing for the theatre and the broader spectrum of opportunities found within performance media. Exploring space, the figure and visual direction as a means of creating statements for a wide range of performance context including text, dance and event. It offers a wide variety of training, incorporating traditional threatre design practice through to the application of new technologies as part of the visual communication network.

Music Technology: On this course, you will gain an understanding of the profound effect that computing and electronic technologies have had on the music and sound production industries. You will develop technical skills in areas such as audio recording.
Creative Music & Sound Technology: Practical creative work is a key feature of this course, combining technical understanding and investigation of music and sound production. It is attractive to both musicians with an interest in technology and technologists with a passion for music.
