Department of Land & Infrastracture Management

The Department offers course programmes that explore spatial design and programme in relation to
land based issues and initiatives at the strategic,regional and local design scales. Considerations of
scale speed and time and change, material qualities and experience are critical. Ideas and the clarity of
expression is a real priority of the programme in preparing the student for effective and practice of land
and environmental practice.
The course will provide a rigorous academic treatment of the fundamental scientific principles and
practice of assessing and controlling the extent of environmental damage and techniques related to the
reduction of emissions of air, land and water and the effects of pollution together with legislative framework
in which they are set.Land and infrastructure management is concerned with assessing the need for and bringing into being, operating and maintaining assets that are at the core of society. It deals with the processes necessary for the planning and development of new infrastructure in a cost effective manner and in maintaining and operating mature infrastructure for sustainability.

The programme is the result of extensive consultation with industry and aims to provide participants
with the skills and information to enable them to take a leading role in industry. Courses on offer at
Certificate, Diploma and Degree levels are:

  • Maintenance of Infrastructure (Building & Roads)
