The biological sciences are concerned with living organisms, especially the chemical and physical processes supporting life and the interactions of living organisms with their environment. Biotechnology has unlocked the door for new and exciting possibilities, such as frontier technologies, genetically modified organisms, healthy foods, innovative medical cures and energy efficiency, etc., that will change every facet of our lives in the 21st century. Nowadays, the term "biotechnology" has become widely recognized and well accepted. At the same time, demands for bioengineering have increased. Biotechnology in the 21st century is expected to provide answers to issues such as deterioration of the global environment, and the problem of food shortages. In the field of, progressive understanding and development of molecular biology and neuroscience modern life sciences have begun to enter a new era, at the same time creating a new type of bioengineering. It is the intention of the Department of Biological Science and Technology to conduct research and training for the forthcoming new century of "modern biotechnology." The graduates always find work as technicians and technologists in various laboratories in the country.
